About your Altnet subscription

What do I get when I subscribe to Altnet?

Music files:
  • When you subscribe to an Altnet Unlimited Music package, you can download unlimited music files, and play those files on up to 3 PCs that you own.
  • The subscription package is PC only, which means that you won’t be able to play those files on a portable music player.
  • The files will remain playable while your subscription is active – once your subscription ends then you will no longer be able to play those files.
  • Altnet music subscriptions are billed monthly, beginning on the day you joined (or at the end of the free trial period, if applicable), and then on the same date each following month.

Ringtones:
  • If you subscribe to an Altnet package that includes ringtones, then you’ll be able to download unlimited ringtones to a single cellphone (the cellphone number that you signed up with or assigned to your subscription account).

How do I cancel my Altnet subscription?

To cancel your subscription, log into www.altnet.com, click on the "View Profile" link in the top banner and click the Unsubscribe link located in the Billing Information section of that page.

If you subscribed by cell phone – i.e. your Altnet Music Subscription is being billed to your cell phone - you can also cancel by texting STOP to 44577.

Can I play Altnet files after I cancel my subscription?

Digital music subscription content operates in much the same way as your cable TV subscription – i.e. when you cancel then the service stops. In the case of music that you downloaded from Altnet, that music remains playable while your subscription is maintained. If you cancel your subscription then that music will no longer be playable, even though it may still be on your hard drive.

I cancelled my subscription - should I delete the files that I downloaded?

If you cancelled your Altnet subscription and you don’t intend to renew it, then, yes, you probably want to delete the Altnet files that you downloaded in order to free up that hard disk space.

However, if you think that you might re-subscribe to Altnet in the near future, then you might want to keep those files to save having to download them again later, because when you resubscribe then those files should become playable again.
